Disaster Medicine

This is one day course that takes place in the wilderness in the Flagstaff mountains. We will focus on teaching you the identification and treatment of post-disaster diseases. We will also cover medical and alternative medicine items you need to look for while rummaging and trading in a post disaster scenario. We will also instruct all students in basic medication dosing. This course emphasizes thinking on your feet and proper preparation. Students will walk away with the ability to provide preventative and long term care for casualties in situations in which advanced medical support is impossible.

DISASTER MEDICINE COURSE INCLUDE ALL SECTIONS FROM TACTICAL MEDICINE LEVEL I COURSE AND FEATURES SECTIONS FOCUSING ON:

• Preventive Medicine- Field Sanitation, water purification, common disease identification, and treatment.
• Basic Medication Dosing
• Field Expedient Medications- how to create your own medicine and what to rummage and trade for.
• Advanced Hemorrhage Control- Ligature and field expedient amputation.
• Secondary Medical Skill- suturing, IVs, and field expedient medications.
• Basic Wilderness movement and survival.

Cost: $275.00 per person.

Law Enforcement/Military Cost: $225.00

-Hunting or Tactical Knife
-Tactical Flashlight or Headlamp
-Foul weather clothing
-Not required but recommended: BUGOUT bag and/or medical kit
-All other Equipment will be provided by SOTS
